Manager - Air Freight Product

Subang Jaya, Selangor
The Air Freight Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of CTX’s air freight operations, ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost-effective transportation of cargo across global networks. This role demands strong leadership, operational expertise, and strategic thinking to drive performance, service quality, and innovation in line with CTX’s values of trust, speed, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement strategies to optimize air freight operations, including carrier management, route planning, and cost control, to achieve company and client objectives.
  2. Negotiate air freight rates and service contracts with airlines, GSAs, and agents to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  3. Monitor global air freight market trends, capacity developments, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for business growth and service improvement.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant international air transport regulations, customs requirements, and industry standards such as IATA, ISO, and CTPAT.
  5. Collaborate closely with sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to deliver integrated logistics solutions and exceptional client experiences.
  6. Manage and coordinate RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs, ensuring timely and accurate submissions that align with CTX’s commercial strategy.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including airlines, airport authorities, ground handlers, and customs officials.
  8. Monitor operational KPIs and service performance metrics to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in air freight operations.
  9. Prepare and present reports to senior management on performance, profitability, service quality, and key strategic initiatives.
  10. Lead and manage the air freight operations team providing guidance, support and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and professional development.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in air freight operations within the international freight forwarding industry, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of air freight procedures, airline operations, and global cargo documentation requirements.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage costs, and build strong relationships with carriers and vendors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on service quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in freight forwarding systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Detail-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade compliance is preferred.
