The Ocean Freight Operations Executive will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of ocean freight operations, ensuring the efficient movement of cargo from origin to destination. This role requires strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of international shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee ocean freight shipments from booking to delivery, ensuring compliance with all regulations and customer specifications.
Liaise with customers, shipping lines, consolidators, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and timely cargo movement.
Coordinate with the procurement and capacity management team to efficiently secure capacity and to optimize costs and maximize profitability.
Monitor shipment status and proactively address any issues or delays to minimize disruptions and ensure on-time delivery.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and shipping manifests.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, such as sales, operations, and warehousing, to ensure alignment and seamless execution of operations.
Stay abreast of industry developments, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve processes and efficiency.

Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ocean freight operations within the international freight forwarding industry.
Thorough understanding of ocean cargo procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in work.
Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Adaptability to changing business needs and schedules.
Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade compliance is a plus.
